New Releases + Books We Anticipate Vol. 2

There are a couple of new releases on my radar. If I wasn’t such a broke bitch, I would have them all pre-ordered. Alas, I find myself fawning over their covers.
On the off-chance that you aren’t a broke bitch like me, you might want to have these books on your shelf too so… here I am with my small-but-mighty listy list.

Of This Our Country by Nigerian Writers

This is the Avengers End Game of Nigerian Anthologies. It has essays from all my favorite authors: Chimamanda Adichie, Lola Shoneyin, Bolu Babalola, Abubakar Adam Ibrahim, ElNathan John.

I have to get this book.

An Unusual Grief by Yewande Omotoso

Nearly All The Men In Lagos Are Mad by Damilare Kuku

Nearly All The Men got a lot of fanfare on twitter a couple of weeks ago. It’s Damilare Kuku’s literary review and promises to leave us wowed.

To be honest, I’m kind tired of reading stories set in Lagos. I feel like there are so many unexplored cities in Nigeria to pick from. But this promises to be an interesting read so I will give it a try.

People Live Here by TJ Benson.

TJ Benson has a second book coming out this year.

I still havent read The Madhouse because I havent been able to get my hand on a copy.
